Opportunity description

Applications are invited for FELLINI Fellowships Program for Experienced Researchers of any nationality. FELLINI is an international incoming mobility fellowship program for experienced researchers which are co-financed by the European Commission through the Marie Sklodowska-Curie COFUND Action.

The National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN) is the Italian research agency dedicated to the study of the fundamental constituents of matter and the laws that govern them, under the supervision of the Ministry of Education, Universities, and Research (MIUR).

NFN research areas can be grouped in 5 main areas:

[1] Experimental Particle Physics.

[2] Experimental Astroparticle Physics.

[3] Experimental Nuclear Physics.

[4] Theoretical Physics.

[5] Technological Research.

The duration of the fellowship is 36 months and includes a mandatory twelve-months period (which could be split into two periods of 6 months) to be spent in a different research institution or in a high-tech private company, chosen by fellowship holders in agreement with their supervisors, according to the interest of their research.

Eligibility for the Scholarship:

Fellowships are for Experienced Researchers of any nationality and are open to candidates who meet the following eligibility criteria:

[1] Applicants must be, at the date of the call deadline, in possession of a doctoral degree or have at least four years of full-time equivalent research experience. Parental leave periods do not count towards the time of research experience.

[2] Full-time Equivalent Research Experience is measured from the date when a researcher obtained the degree entitling him/her to embark on a doctorate, either in the country in which the degree was obtained or in the country in which the researcher is recruited, even if a doctorate was never started or envisaged.

[3] Applicants must comply with Marie Sklodowska Curie Action mobility rule: researchers may not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Italy for more than 12 months in the 3 years before the call deadline.

[4] English Language Requirements: Applicants whose first language is not English are usually required to provide evidence of proficiency in English at the higher level required by the University.

[2] Be received through the INFN online application system.
