FINNOF is the first International Festival that rewards innovative narrative projects in the field of non-fiction, including journalistic, documentary, and educational productions. In its second edition, projected for May 2022, the contest will award projects in eight categories that contemplate emerging narrative languages and formats: Interactive Documentary (iDoc), Web Series, University Web Series, Transmedia, Virtual Reality, Podcast, University Podcast, and Prize of the public. In addition to the competing categories, in this new edition, three distinctions are added under the Special Mention modality for outstanding projects for their treatment in Human Rights, Gender Equality and Science, Technology and the Environment.
Categories:
Projects that wish to compete in the 2022 FINNOF may register in the following categories:
- Interactive Documentary (iDoc): includes all those journalistic, documentary, and educational projects that are developed in multimedia and interactive online environments, incorporating active user participation.
- Web Series: includes all those journalistic, documentary, and educational productions of serial audiovisual format, organized in chapters or episodes, created to be distributed through the internet.
- Transmedia Storytelling: includes all those journalistic, documentary, and educational productions that are developed through multiple media platforms, using different languages and formats, considering users in an active role in this expansion process.
- Virtual Reality (VR): Includes all those journalistic, documentary, and educational productions that develop immersive experiences of storytelling and interaction.
- Podcast: Includes all those journalistic, documentaries, and educational productions distributed in audio formats as chapters or episodes of a series.
Benefits
The projects that are winners of the second edition of the International Festival of New Non-Fiction Narratives will be awarded a FINNOF 2022 statuette and a diploma of recognition. Those who receive special mentions will be recognized with a diploma.
The award ceremony will be held via streaming from the city of Rosario, Argentina, on May 5, 2022.
Eligibility criteria
- They will be able to apply to the Festival all those productions, national and international, whose themes are included in the field of non-fiction narratives and developed in the formats and languages proposed in the Festival categories. The productions must not exceed two years of its premiere, taking as reference the date of realization of this edition of the Festival (May 2022).
- All productions made in a language other than Spanish must include subtitles (in Spanish).
