The Tomorrow’s Leaders Graduate Program (TLG) is a Master's scholarship program funded by the U.S. Department of State’s U.S.-Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI).

Program Details:

The Tomorrow’s Leaders Graduate Program (TLG) is a leadership training program by the U-S- Department of State Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI). Its objective is to support academically qualified and economically deserving students in the MENA region by providing graduate study and organized research that advances knowledge, furthers the professionalization of emerging leaders, and contributes to the implementation of socially relevant initiatives.

The first AUB-MEPI-TLG program aims to graduate Leaders in Data Science (LiDS) and therefore emphasizes research in the areas of data analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence with interdisciplinary applications. This program also offers professional training in leadership and gender. A total of 43 graduate leadership training are to be awarded to students who apply to eligible master’s programs at AUB, spanning the Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS), Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS), Maroun Semaan Faculty of Engineering and Architecture (MSFEA), and Olayan School of Business (OSB).

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Citizen of Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, Morocco, Syria (residing outside Syria), Tunisia, or Yemen, U.S. citizens, and Green Card holders are not eligible for the program
  • Be committed to complete your Master’s degree within two years (starting Spring 2021-22);
  • Be committed to pursue hands-on public policy research and work as part of your Master’s program;
  • Demonstrate academic excellence (maintain a GPA of 3.0 throughout the academic years);
  • Note: American citizens and Green Card holders are not eligible to apply.
  • Demonstrate financial need status per MEPI and AUB Financial Aid policies.

Benefits:

In addition to completing program requirements, MEPI-TLG scholars will:

  • Work on a particular research project that is associated with their program of study.
  • Enroll in two additional courses on Gender Studies.
  • Enroll in an additional course on Data Science (applies to MEPI-TLG LiDS only). 
  • Be involved in leadership training, civic engagement, volunteering, and community service activities, in a variety of NGO’s and CSO’s.
  • Pursue internships with numerous private sector and public sector organizations in Lebanon and in the region.

Funding:

  • Full coverage of all applicable charges for enrollment, tuition, and fees;
  • University Medical insurance coverage;
  • A monthly living allowance;
  • Student housing;
  • One laptop for the duration of the program;
  • A yearly book allowance;
  • Two round-trip tickets from and to the home country, where applicable
  • Exposure to and engagement in different community development projects and/or internships in the host country, and/or their home countries to learn about different forms of intervention and apply such learning back in their respective countries;
  • Academic advising, mentoring services, and learning services;
  • Professional training on leadership and gender.
