VSO is looking for a volunteer to be part of an agriculture and natural resources project as an Agronomy Specialist in Cambodia starting from December 1st, 2018. You will also be joining the high performing Improving Market Access for the Poor (IMA4P) project team to support rice farmer-members of agricultural cooperatives in all aspects of rice production using sound, appropriate and sustainable farming practices and technologies.

Role overview:

As a VSO volunteer, you will live and work in some of the world’s poorest communities. By sharing your unique skills and experience, you will help generate new ideas and new ways of doing things, helping the communities you work in lift themselves out of poverty. The organization is not about delivering quick fixes, but instead it focuses on long-lasting, sustainable change, that will impact generations to come.

Requirements:

[1] Ability to be open minded and respectful
[2] Ability to be resilient and adaptive to new situations
[3] Ability to facilitate positive change and build sustainable working relationships
[4] Ability to seek and share knowledge

Benefits:

VSO will cover your travel, vaccinations, accommodation, and medical insurance costs, along with a local living allowance which will be paid in local currency. This allowance meets reasonable living expenses in country, but will not be enough to send money home. You will also receive some financial support to contribute to your on-going expenses at home, in addition to basic accommodation.

About VSO:

VSO is the world’s leading international development organization that works through volunteers to fight poverty. Working in 24 countries around the world, its unique role in international development is to place committed volunteers with carefully selected organizations where their skills can have the greatest impact.
