Opportunity description
Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is offering clinical fellowships for undergraduate students who are interested in chronic pulmonary and gastrointestinal diseases of children, adolescents, and adults with CF, as well as students who are interested in getting professional clinical training or basic research training related to CF. The intent of this program is to encourage specialized training in the early career development stage and to prepare well-qualified candidates for careers related to CF.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be eligible for board certification in pediatrics or internal medicine by the time the fellowship begins and are expected to be sub-specialty board eligible at the completion of the fellowship program.
- Applicants may be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or non-US citizens. International applicants must have the ability to obtain the appropriate visas, as applicable.
Benefits
- Fellowships for years one and two of fellowship training are primarily intended to support clinical training. Awards are $60,000 (first year) and $65,000 (second year) for stipend (indirect costs are not allowed).
- Fellowships are available for additional basic and/or clinical research training in the third, fourth, and fifth years to qualified applicants. These awards are up to $100,000 and include $80,000 for stipend and $20,000 for research costs (indirect costs are not allowed). Applicants for these awards must submit a proposal of the research studies to be undertaken and other specialized training that will be offered during the funding period.
