Opportunity description
University College Cork is pleased to announce that up to 19 Quercus Taught Masters Academic Scholarships will be awarded to top-performing postgraduate applicants to masters courses in 2019/20.
How many are available and for what courses?
- College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences (CACSSS): 1 scholarship for international candidates to all taught Masters courses apart from the Education courses.
- College of Science, Engineering and Food Science (CoSEFS): 10 scholarships to all taught Masters courses.
- College of Medicine and Health (CoM&H): 5 scholarships to all taught Masters courses.
- College of Business and Law - School of Law: 1 scholarship to all taught Masters courses and the LLB.
- College of Business and Law - Cork University Business School: 1 scholarship to all taught Masters courses.
Eligibility criteria:
- Quercus Taught Masters Academic Scholarships are only awarded to masters students on taught programs. Postgraduate diploma, Higher diploma and postgraduate certificate students and students on research programs (including MRes) will not be considered.
- The scholarships will be awarded to candidates who have a minimum 1H undergraduate honors bachelor degree or equivalent, ex: a minimum CGPA of 4.5 on a 5 point scale and a minimum CGPA of 3.6 on a 4 point scale.
- The student must be a self-funded applicant availing of no additional grants/scholarships etc.
- Having a full application on the Postgradute Applications centere (PAC). Courses offered outside the PAC application system will not be included in this scheme.
- Applicants who receive alternative funding not known at the time of application may still receive the title ‘Quercus Taught Masters’ Scholar,’ but will not be awarded any contribution towards fees.
- In order to be awarded a Quercus Taught Masters Academic Scholarship students must meet the university’s standard English language requirements.
- Repeat years/modules will not be funded under the Quercus Taught Masters Academic Scholarship program.
Scholarship's value:
The Quercus Taught Masters Scholarship is a 50% contribution towards postgraduate fees for the duration of the postgraduate course.
