Opportunity description

The University of Nottingham in the UK is offering a scholarship program to cover tuition fees for international students with outstanding sporting potential in various fields and levels of study.

Eligibility Criteria:

To apply for this award, you must:

  • be of academy, national or international standard in any sport or show strong evidence of future outstanding potential.
  • be classed as an overseas student for fee purposes.
  • hold an offer to start a full-time academic course in any subject area at the University of Nottingham UK in September 2020

Scholarship Coverage:

Nottingham University is offering 10 scholarships of £5,000 towards full-time tuition fees for international students at any study level with outstanding sporting ability.

Other Conditions:

  • Priority is given to sports within the BUCS program, Olympic, Paralympic and Commonwealth sports, with other sports considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • This award cannot be combined with another University of Nottingham regional or sports scholarship. However, you may also be able to receive a subject scholarship from your academic school or an external scholarship, where the combined total does not exceed 100% of tuition fees.
  • Accept the scholarship by the given deadline – the University reserves the right to withdraw the offer of a scholarship if it is not accepted by the given deadline.
  • Scholarships cannot be deferred to the following academic year.
  • Where changes are made without prior approval, the scholarship will be withdrawn and you may be required to repay the scholarship in full. Scholarships are not automatically extendable.
  • Agree to act in an ambassadorial capacity, to produce student profiles, and to attend scholarship/recruitment events as required for the University of Nottingham. 
  • Agree to the University of Nottingham contacting you approximately two years after your graduation for an update on how the scholarship has influenced your career.
  • Make satisfactory progress in your program of study. The scholarship is subject to satisfactory progress.
