The Andalus Center for Tolerance and Anti-Violence Studies announces the opening of applications to Andalus Institute for Distance Learning to enroll in the Program for the Use of Technology in Accounting and Surveillance Issues in Arabic in the Arab Region. The Academy aims to train 80 young men and women from the Arab region on the issues of accounting such as anti-corruption efforts, surveillance and accountability, media monitoring, fact-finding, election monitoring, and other issues related to democratic systems and evaluating their performance through various technological means in line with technological developments around the world.
Program Details:
The program's duration is 5 weeks of continuous training of 6 hours per week, including readable content on accounting issues, election monitoring, anti-corruption, media monitoring, and information validation. It also includes visual presentations with an elite of experts in the Arab region. As a part of the program, the participants will have to develop a project idea of their own on one of these issues. The best two participants will be selected by the end of the program and will be given a one-month fellowship in a specialized institution in one of these issues in the Arab region.
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must:
- Be between ages 18-35
- Have at least a qualification of high school or its equivalent in other educational systems
- Be fluent in Arabic
- Be involved in working in Civil Society whether it is voluntary or aid
- Have good experience in using the internet and web browsing
- Be able to commit during the training period
- Have the willingness to travel if they are chosen as one of the two best participants in the training
Note: previous experience in this field is not required.
