<p>Map of Creation invites applicants to take part in the tenth edition of Middle East Now festival, which will take place in Italy, in Florence from 2 to 7 April 2019. Middle East Now are looking for a film director who is telling stories through beautiful movies, someone who&#39;s able to present the real face of the Middle East.</p><h3><strong>Selection Criteria</strong></h3><p>The association will be selecting feature films, documentaries, short films and animated films produced in 2017-2018-2019 and from Afghanistan, Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Libya, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Oman and Yemen.</p><h3><strong>Awards</strong></h3><p>Participants will present their films in Italy, in Florence, and compete for the:</p><ol><li>&quot;Middle East Now Audience Award&quot;; &nbsp;and</li><li>The two awards for the short films &quot;NYU Florence Best Short&quot; and &quot;Best OFF&quot;.</li></ol><h3><strong>About Map of Creation</strong></h3><p>Middle East Now festival is organized by MAP OF CREATION, a non-profit cultural association based in Florence which is active in producing documentary films and hosting cultural events. They work on documentaries and cinema that focuses on the key themes of the contemporary world, as a powerful instrument to approach reality and cultural integration. Their research is currently concentrated on cultural, social and political themes in the Middle East.</p>
