The Nami Island International Picture Book Illustration concours is inviting illustrators all over the world to participate in its competition to showcase their creative talents and raise the quality and standards of picture book illustrations.
About the Competition:-
Nami Concours aims to encourage artists’ creativity and contribute to the advancement of the quality of picture book illustrations.
The competition is organized every 2 years by Nami Island, the official sponsor of IBBY Hans Christian Andersen Awards.
Nami Concours 2021 holds the online award ceremony and special exhibition during the 2021 Nami Island International Children’s Book Festival. Nami Concours 2021 publishes a catalogue featuring the shortlisted candidates for international promotional purposes.
There is no entry fee to participate.
Eligibility:-
The competition is open to illustrators from around the world.
Requirements and Conditions:-
- The eligible works are Illustrations for picture books.
- A set of illustrations should comprise one story.
- Only 5 illustrations per entry is allowed.
- Data Size: Not bigger than 20 MB in total (RGB format, jpg/jpeg file).
- There are no restrictions on the theme of the works.
- Shortlisted illustrations may be featured at exhibitions, catalogues, prints, electronic media etc. for promotional purposes.
Timeline:-
- Competition Opening: 1 December 2020.
- Competition Deadline: 31 December 2020.
- The winners will be announced on the Nami Concours official website in February 2021.
Prizes:-
- Grand Prix (1): plaque and $10,000 USD.
- Golden Island (2): plaque $5,000 USD.
- Green Island (5): plaque $2,000 USD.
- Purple Island (10): certificate and plaque.
- All shortlisted candidates will be provided with one catalogue after the event.
About Nami Concours:-
The Nami Island International Picture Book Illustration Concours, (Nami Concours) is an international competition held in Korea for book artists. The biannual event is sponsored by Nami Island, Korea, and seeks to encourage artistic creativity and advance the quality of picture book illustrations worldwide. The competition is open to all picture book illustrators and was launched in 2013.
