Opportunity description

The Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research (SIEPR) seeks highly skilled and motivated individuals to join our full-time Predoctoral Research Fellowship Program for a period of at least one year. The program is designed to prepare individuals wishing to gain valuable training and experience toward a career in academic research in economics or public policy. Applicants must meet the following requirements:
[1] have completed a 4-year undergraduate degree (bachelor's or foreign equivalent) in economics, statistics, applied mathematics, or a related field
[2] possess a strong quantitative background and interest in learning cutting-edge research methods
[3] have creative and independent problem solving skills
[4] experience programming in Stata and R, and may have experience with GIS, Matlab, and other statistical packages
[5] interested in pursuing a PhD in Economics or a related field

Applicants will compete for 8 fellowship positions based at the Institute for Economic Policy Research at Stanford University starting in June or July 2018. The fellowship program offers tuition, health insurance, and a living stipend of $48,000.
