Win a $800 Prize in the Coloring Metal Wires Competition in Jordan

Yomken has announced the opening of the Creative Art Competition "Metal Wire Coloring Challenge"  that will be held in Jordan and sponsored by Dubai Expo 2020. This challenge is a call for art lovers to provide a new way to color metal wires in different colors to avoid the need for expensive materials (such as copper). 

Competition Goal: 

Jordanian wiretap artists suffer from rising prices of colored wires. These wires are used to give a variety of colors in their products along with attractive artistic appearance, forcing artists to use expensive colored wires to sell their products, which will therefore be expensive to compensate. Authentic artistic products may lead to the extinction of art itself. So wire artists need new ways to change the color of thin metal wires into a variety of other colors to replace expensive color wires, reducing production costs, dramatically reducing sales prices and thus increasing productivity. 

About the Challenge: 

Provide and test a cost-effective new method (solution) for coloring thin metal wires used in the manufacture of models and wire carvings. 

Competition Terms: 

• The solution should meet the following criteria:
  1. Permanent colors.
  2. Low cost methods.
  3. Keeping the wire flexible.
  4. Simple and safe techniques.
  5. Easy to replicate.
  6. Does not require any special tools or equipment.
  7. Priority will be given to solutions of various colors.
• The solution should include a clear plan of action, including the implementation stages, timetable, required tools / materials, estimated budget, and required technical support (if any).
• The rewards will be given in batches, according to the action plan determined by the innovators.
• According to the terms and conditions of the challenge, if the intellectual property rights are not registered, the innovator must include the minimum details required to judge the validity of the technology and the feasibility of the solution, without the full technical specifications.

Award: 

The winner will receive a reward of US $800 to implement the solution in cooperation with EXPO 2020.
