The Crown Prince Foundation is inviting the youth from Madaba and Amman to join the workshop which is being held to write the paper for the conference that will be held in London 2019 about Jordan’s Growth and Opportunity.

Objectives

The objectives of the consultation meetings are:

  1. Get an overview on the youth’s vision, priorities, needs, challenges and solutions.
  2. Enhance the paper drafting process credibility and representation.
  3. Provide an eye-opening opportunity on topics, themes, questions that might not have been discussed or paid attention to before in order to be included in the paper.

About the Workshop:

The consultations meetings will make sure to:

  1. Include youth from 18-24 years old.
  2. Male and females will be equally represented.
  3. Various geographical locations.
  4. Different socio-economic backgrounds and educational levels.
  5. Marginalized youth (Refugees, disabilities, minorities...).

Themes:

  • The main theme of the paper is economic development and unemployment. It is recommended to cover the following subtopics:
    • Youth unemployment (causes and implications).
    • Inequality in employment and wasta.
    • Female low participation in the labor market.
    • Vocational training and jobs.
    • Career counseling, job skills, internships and working during studying.
    • Culture of shame, dependency and laziness.
    • Entrepreneurship and startups.
    • Career in the pubic, private and army sectors.
    • Investment laws, incentives and challenges.
    • Associated legal system, labor law and other.
    • Interest and knowledge about future jobs related to ICT, health and education.

Note: the workshop will take on January, 16th 2019.
