Opportunity description

The Tashkeel platform announces a workshop entitled “Fun Sunday: Beach of Awareness,” which aims to eliminate the phenomenon of waste spread on beaches in the United Arab Emirates.

Benefits

  • This workshop will encourage participants to think about waste disposal habits differently by drawing and coloring different landmarks in the UAE, by encouraging them to incorporate conscious behavior about the importance of the environment into their creative lives.
  • Instructors from Easy Doodles will help participants transform their drawings into multimedia sculptures that use different waste elements.
  • The workshop will encourage participants to think about art making consciously and responsibly and understand the creative ways in which waste items can be used to create creative masterpieces.

Eligibility criteria

  • This workshop will be held from 10 am to 12 noon on June 9, 2024.
  • This opportunity targets children between the ages of 7 and 11 years old.
  • The number of places available in this opportunity is 15.
  • This opportunity will be held at Al Safa Arts and Design Library.
  • The registration fee for this workshop is 175 AED (+ VAT).
  • The amount paid will be non-refundable.

About Tashkeel Foundation:

Latifa bint Maktoum founded the Tashkeel Center in Dubai in 2008 to provide an incubator environment for the development of contemporary art and design practices in the United Arab Emirates. The Center provides space for creative and experimental practices and dialogue between practitioners and the broader community by providing multidisciplinary studios, workspaces, and exhibitions in Nad Al Sheba and Al Fahidi.
