Creative Writing Ink invites all creatives to a writing competition that has been launched under the title: Best In Rural Writing Contest 2023. Submissions are now open to the best short story and best essay which should in some way, be connected to “the rural". Share your best work and you will have a chance to win amazing prizes valued at 300$.
Benefits
If you win this competition, you will have one of the following prizes:
- The overall winner of the Best in Rural Writing Contest: $200.
- Best short story and best essay: Each author will receive $100.
- Ten shortlisted entries (5 fiction and 5 nonfiction submissions): Published in the 2023 Best in Rural Writing eBook.
Eligibility criteria
You should follow the following criteria:
- The Best in Rural Writing contest is open to everyone in the world.
- Submissions should, in some way, be connected to “the rural".
- The manner and extent to which this is done is open to the author and not necessarily limited to rural characters or rural topics.
- The work must be original and unpublished.
- Fiction and Nonfiction (6,000 words and under).
- Shortlisted authors must be willing to have their work appear in the 2023 Best in Rural Writing eBook.
- Authors retain all rights to their work.
Please note:
- $5 Entry Fee (to support next year’s contest).
- The winner will be announced late 2023.
