Opportunity description

The Chevening Scholarship is a fully funded global program supported by the UK Government through the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), in partnership with British and international organizations. Established in 1983, the program aims to support future leaders from around the world by offering them the opportunity to pursue postgraduate studies in UK universities.

The Chevening Scholarship is offered to international students who wish to pursue a full-time master’s degree in any field and at any UK university. It is not only a scholarship but also a platform that enables outstanding students to build a global network with influential leaders in politics, economy, society, and research.

Application Deadline

Applications usually open in 5 August each year and close in 7 October, with the academic program beginning in September of the following year.

Eligibility criteria

  • Be a citizen of an eligible country (including most Arab countries).
  • Commit to returning to your home country for at least two years after the scholarship ends.
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree that qualifies you for postgraduate study in the UK.
  • Have at least two years of work experience (employment, volunteering, or internships).
  • Apply to three different master’s programs at UK universities and secure an unconditional offer from at least one of them.
  • Must not hold British nationality or have previously received a UK government scholarship.
