Climate Changemaker Film Festival for Student Short Films and Trees Planted in Names of Winners

FilmFreeway is inviting all filmmakers to take part in

2022 Climate Changemaker Film Festival competition. CALLING ALL TEEN FILMMAKERS! If you are a middle school or high school student (ages 10-18 years old) that has a climate change-related short film, please submit your film by midnight, March 22, 2022. We are looking for short films that explore climate change-related topics or call to action films that inspire viewers to make a change.

All winning films will premiere at the Climate Changemaker Film Festival in April 2022.

CATEGORIES INCLUDE:

1. Short Films (2 - 5 minutes)
2. Narratives
3. Documentaries
4. Experimental/Avant-garde
5. Music Videos
6. Impact Films (30 seconds - 2 minutes)
7. Short films under 2 minutes about Climate Change

Short films that ideally have a call to action

• High School:

1. Best Short Film - 1st Place: 20 trees planted in your name
2. Best Short Film - Runner Up: 10 trees planted in your name
3. Best Impact Film - 1st Place: 20 trees planted in your name
4. Best Impact Film - Runner Up: 10 trees planted in your name
5. Audience Choice (High School): 10 trees planted in your name

• Middle School:

1. Best Short Film - 1st Place: 20 trees planted in your name
2. Best Short Film - Runner Up: 10 trees planted in your name
3. Best Impact Film - 1st Place: 20 trees planted in your name
4. Best Impact Film - Runner Up: 10 trees planted in your name
5. Audience Choice (Middle School): 10 trees planted in your name

1. All subject matter must be related to climate change.
2. Open to U.S. and International Students
3. Films must be under 5 minutes
4. Films must be made by students in Middle School or Upper School (ages 10-18)
5. If you are older than 18, you are not qualified.
6. Adult participation should be limited to coaching or acting.
7. All legal licenses for music and images have been cleared and approved in advance by the filmmaker.
8. By submitting your film to our Festival you grant us the right to use excerpts in our promotion on social media or our websites.
9. Films in languages other than English must include English subtitles
10. Films must be submitted through FilmFreeway by 11:59 pm PST on March 22nd, 2022
11. All winning films will premiere at the Climate Changemaker Teen Film Festival on Earth Day (April 22nd). Mark your calendars to attend!
