The fourth Close-up Photographer of the Year (CUPOTY) is inviting photographers from all over the world to participate with their photographs, in the 11 categories available: Animals, Insects, Butterflies & Dragonflies, Invertebrate Portrait, Underwater, Plants, Fungi, Intimate Landscape, Manmade, Micro and Young.
Benefits
- Overall winner: £2,500, a trophy and a digital certificate and badge.

Eligibility criteria
- Anyone can enter, from any country, using any type of camera, mobile phone or light microscope.
- close-ups, wideangle shots, portraits of larger animals as well as traditional macro and images made with a microscope or objective are all welcomed.
- Images can be spread across the categories and the same image can be entered into more than one category. (Every time a picture is entered into a category it counts as one entry.)
- Entry fees for each category: £10 for one picture in one category, £20 for 6 pictures across all categories, £30 for 15 pictures across all categories, £40 for 30 pictures across all categories, £5 for 15 pictures in Young CUPOTY.
Photograph requirements:
- 1920px or less along the longest edge.
- 300dpi.
- in the sRGB color space.
- without watermarks, borders or signatures.
