The World Conference of Science Journalists 2027 (WCSJ2027) is offering travel fellowships to support journalists, media professionals, and students interested in science journalism who may otherwise be unable to attend the conference due to limited funding.
The conference will be held in London, United Kingdom, under the theme Strengthening science journalism through global networks. It brings together journalists, writers, editors, and science communication professionals from around the world to participate in professional development workshops, sessions, discussions, field visits, and international networking opportunities.
The conference is organized by the Association of British Science Writers (ABSW) and the World Federation of Science Journalists (WFSJ).

Eligibility criteria

Journalists working for media organizations are eligible to apply.
Freelance journalists may also apply.
Journalists, writers, and professionals working in science journalism and related fields are eligible.
Science communication and media professionals may apply.
Students in journalism, science journalism, media, science communication, and related fields are eligible.
Some researchers and lecturers in journalism, media, or science communication may also apply if they have a relevant professional journalism record.
Journalism may be either the applicant’s primary or secondary profession.
Applicants must demonstrate a genuine need for financial support to attend the conference.
Applicants must be available to participate for the required period from September 6 to 10, 2027.
Applicants must have a passport valid through at least the end of September 2027, or be in the process of obtaining or renewing one.
The application and supporting documents must be submitted in English, and applicants should have sufficient English proficiency to benefit from the conference.
