Opportunity description

Erasmus Mendos offers master's degree in the Smart Robotic Systems Field Program (IFRoS) to students from all over the world. IFRoS is aimed at a new generation of engineers who will develop new applications and tools to expand the capabilities of field robots in the near future. The programme is structured in four semesters. The first two semesters take place in Girona and provide a solid foundation in field robotics, with focus on land and marine robots. During the 3rd semester, students may choose a programme oriented towards multiple robots and aerial vehicles in Zagreb, or a programme oriented towards autonomous systems and self-driving land vehicles in Budapest. During the last semester, students will prepare a master's thesis, which can be hosted by any of the consortium universities or associated partners.

Benefits

The EMJMD scholarships are including student participation costs (including the tuition fees, full insurance coverage and any other mandatory costs related to student participation in the course), a contribution to student travel and installation cost and a subsistence allowance for the entire duration of the EMJMD study programme.

  • Programme Countries EU : 35,500 €
  • Partner Countries Non EU: 42,000 €

Contribution to subsistence costs will NOT be given for:

  • Programme and Partner country students, for the time they are living in their country of residence.
  • Partner country students, for the periods exceeding 3 months spent in any Partner country.
  • Partner Country = Students who don’t have the nationality of one of the member states of the European Union, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Turkey Serbia or North Macedonia), are considered as students from Partner countries.
  • Partner Country students who are not residents nor have carried out their main activity (studies, training or work) for more than a total of 12 months over the last 5 years in any Programme Country are considered as Partner Country students. The 5-year reference period for this 12-months rules is calculated backwards as from the submission deadline of applying for the EMJMD scholarship.
  • Students who have the nationality of one of those states are considered as students from Programme countries : Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Serbia and Turkey.

Important Note: Students with a double nationality must specify the nationality under which they want to submit their scholarship application. No change will be possible after the submission of the application.

Eligibility criteria

The program is open to students from all over the world who have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Robotics, or a related discipline.

Admission Criteria:

Admission criteria will be based on outstanding achievement during the applicant’s first degree (180 ECTS), English language ability, personal motivation letter and letters of recommendation.

The Intelligent Field Robotic Systems (IFRoS) is a 2-year joint master degree with 120 ECTS coordinated by the Universitat de Girona (UdG, Spain) together with the University of Zagreb (UNIZG, Croatia) and the Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE, Hungary).
