FUNFEST International Festival of Student Filmmakers in Portugal

Film Free Way invites student filmmakers from all over the world to participate in the FUNFEST International Festival which will take place from February 4 to May 26, 2022 in Portugal.

FUNFEST main goals:

• Promote versatile skills among students regarding audiovisual production, namely literary, historical, cultural, musical, scenic and linguistic;
• Encourage the production of artistic videos related to regional, national, European or global matters, as a way of raising awareness in the school community to current affairs;
• Promote reading, information, digital and media literacy, from a peer perspective and from youth to youth;
• Create diverse and youth-oriented educational tools to promote citizenship, active participation and critical thinking.

• Prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places;
• All finalists are entitled to a certificate of participation;
• The members of the jury reserves the right to award honorable mentions to videos that stand out, for any justifiable reason, in the various genres.

• The FUNFEST Festival is exclusively aimed at students living in Portugal, as well as students around the world, who attend secondary, or professional education of an equivalent degree, and universities;
• Students can participate individually or form teams up to a maximum of ten members;
• Students must be enrolled in an educational establishment, in the school year 2021/2022;
• A student or team cannot submit more than one video but each school may submit more than one project;
• This year topic is "EDUCATION AND ART: ARTISTIC AND AESTHETICS SENSIBILITY ".
• Videos must have a maximum duration of 8 minutes and should be in MP4 or MOV format;
• The festival makes no distinction between categories of production. Therefore, any genres are accepted (fiction, documentary, animation, video clip (song), video dance, monologue, experimental...).
• Incomplete or “work in progress” videos are not accepted;
• Videos with narratives, text or dialogues in languages other than Portuguese must have Portuguese or English subtitles;
• The festival will not accept videos which contain or transmit any message that violates the fundamental rights and freedom of human beings, as defined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights;
• By submitting the videos, participants assign to the festival organization the rights to display their work as well as authorize the use of the images, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part;
