Opportunity description
The Roberto Cimetta Fund (RCF), in collaboration with the Directorate-General for the Arts (DGArtes) of the Portuguese Ministry of Culture and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, launches the Gil Mendo Mobility Grant (GMMG) to honor the legacy of Gil Mendo (1946–2022), one of the founders of RCF who played a significant role in advancing artistic support in Portugal and beyond.
Grant Objective: To support the mobility of artists and cultural professionals, with a focus on dance as the main art form or starting point, while considering multidisciplinary artistic crossovers.
The grant aims to foster knowledge exchange and collaboration between Portugal and the Mediterranean region, increasing work opportunities and promoting local and regional arts development, while highlighting the potential impact on the artistic and cultural scene.
Applicants: Eligible to receive a grant ranging between €500 and €1,000 to cover mobility-related costs, such as travel tickets, visas, and accommodation.

Eligible Candidates:
- Individual arts and culture professionals such as artists, managers, producers, researchers, journalists, programmers, curators, etc.
- Organizations are not eligible to apply.
- No age restrictions for applicants.
Areas of Application:
- Proposals must focus on dance as the main starting point, with the possibility of interdisciplinary crossover with other art forms.
Mobility Goals:
- Must be justified within the framework of the applicant's professional project or career development, and may include:
- Preparation of a professional project.
- Establishment of partnerships or participation in joint productions.
- Participation in artistic research or residencies.
- Attendance at network meetings.
- Engagement in artistic/professional training or education (internships, workshops, studies, etc.).
- Attendance at conferences, festivals, or seminars.
Eligible Beneficiaries:
- Cultural and artistic professionals residing in Portugal or non-EU countries in the Mediterranean region (e.g., Western Balkans, North Africa, and the Middle East).
Mobility Conditions:
- Mobility must take place between Portugal and non-EU countries in the Mediterranean basin, with Portugal as the point of departure or arrival.
