Duration of the Korean Government Scholarship:
The duration varies by degree:
Bachelor’s: 4 years, plus 1 year of Korean language training.
Master’s: 2 years, plus 1 year of Korean language training.
Doctorate (PhD): 3 years, plus 1 year of Korean language training.
Applications for all programs open from late September to the end of October 2026.
There are two application tracks:
Through the university

Eligibility criteria
- Applicants must be citizens of countries designated by NIIED and invited to participate in the GKS program (Egypt/ Jordan/ Saudi Arabia/ Yemen/ Morocco/ Sudan).
- Open to students who have graduated (or will graduate) from high school or an associate degree program.
- A score percentile of 80% or higher on a 100-point scale, or ranking in the top 20% of their class.
- A cumulative GPA of at least 2.64/4.0, 2.80/4.3, 2.91/4.5, or 3.23/5.0.
- Applicants must be under 25 years old.
- All applicants must be in good physical and mental health to complete their studies in Korea.
