Opportunity description
The Island Library Foundation announces its annual international photo album competition, which will give the winners the opportunity to win a prize amounting to 11 thousand euros. The International Photo Album Contest, promoted by the Cabildo de Gran Canaria Island Library, has been launched again after five years of discontinuation in cooperation with the Catalan publishing house “A Buen Paso”, in which the Italian writer and editor Ariana Scioloni participated. The aforementioned publishing house publishes books for children and young adults, and currently has an extensive catalog whose titles include “Tattooed Dad” by Daniel Nesquins and Sergio Moura, and “What a Freshly Severed Head Thinks” by Juan Carlos Quezadas. and Carla Besora, “Amigagalina” by Juan Arjona, as well as a collection of texts by Chilean María José Ferrada.

The prize value is 11,000 euros, and this competition is considered the best in its category in the field of Spanish literature.
Eligibility criteria
- All individuals, writers and illustrators of legal age who submit work in Spanish, regardless of their place of origin, can participate in this competition.
- Employees of the publishing house “A Buen Paso” (hereinafter referred to as ABP) and the Ministry of Culture of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria (hereinafter referred to as CGC) cannot participate in this competition.
- Winners of the previous edition of the competition will not be able to apply for the next two editions.
