Opportunity description

DAAD invites the candidates from all over the world to the Chair of Tropical Forestry Scholarships. The Chair of Tropical Forestry is the first academic institution in Europe, focusing on forestry in the Global South. It is concerned with global challenges in forest utilization and rehabilitation. The great variety of research and doctoral projects directly enter into the action-oriented teaching.

Eligibility criteria

You must be: 

  • hold a university degree (at least B.Sc. or an equivalent degree) in forestry, or in a related field like agriculture, horticulture, land-use or regional planning, geography, water management/hydrology, biology, ecology, regional development, or governance of natural resources.
  • proficient in the English language (TOEFL 80 ITB or IELTS 6.0).
  • have to register in the TU Dresden online registration portal SELMA.
  • Application deadline for the start of the study in October of the same year is:
  1. for non-EU citizens is the 31th of May.
  2. for Germans and EU citizens on the 15th of July.

Please note: Courses start in October every year (winter term).
