Partially Funded Master scholarships from DAAD in Germany

DAAD invites the candidates from all over the world to the Chair of Tropical Forestry Scholarships. The Chair of Tropical Forestry is the first academic institution in Europe, focusing on forestry in the Global South. It is concerned with global challenges in forest utilization and rehabilitation. The great variety of research and doctoral projects directly enter into the action-oriented teaching.

If you join this scholarship, you will have:

1. Teaching and research are entirely internationally oriented. 
2. The team is multicultural. 
3. The ability to develop, supervise, and know innovative and sustainability-oriented management concepts and the flexible adaptation to the changing ecological and social framework.
4.  The knowledge of social fields, sciences, technologies and can apply such knowledge for the management of tropical and subtropical landscapes. 
5. An interesting study program for conveying the fundamentals for understanding the ecosystem forest , as well as timber utilization.
6. Given the great variety of teaching subjects to choose between optional courses, so as to promote your personal strengths and inclinations.
7. Conveying the ecological knowledge in an interdisciplinary way.
8. Many teaching contents accompanied high number of practical assignments and field trips.
9. Teach the modes of leading an enterprise.

You must be: 

• hold a university degree (at least B.Sc. or an equivalent degree) in forestry, or in a related field like agriculture, horticulture, land-use or regional planning, geography, water management/hydrology, biology, ecology, regional development, or governance of natural resources.
• proficient in the English language (TOEFL 80 ITB or IELTS 6.0).
• have to register in the TU Dresden online registration portal SELMA.
• Application deadline for the start of the study in October of the same year is:

1. for non-EU citizens is the 31th of May.
2. for Germans and EU citizens on the 15th of July.

Please note: Courses start in October every year (winter term).
