Erasmus Mundus offers master's scholarships; Joint Masters Degree in GENIAL (GrEen NetworkIng And cLoud computing) is a unique international Masters course (2 years, 120 ECTS) that envisions cleaner networking and computing technologies, leading to sustainability in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).
The Erasmus+ program proposes two kinds of scholarships: the program country scholarships and the partner country scholarships.
- Program Country:
- Students whose nationality is one of the Erasmus+ Programme Countries count as Programme Country students.
- Partner Country:
- Students who are not residents nor have carried out their main activity (studies, training, or work) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in a Programme Country.
Benefits
If you get this scholarship, you will have:
- Participation Costs are automatically paid from the scholarship:
- For students from a Programme Country, the program participation costs are 4 500 EUR per year.
- For students from a Partner Country, the program participation costs are 9 000 EUR per year.
- Contribution to the travel and installation costs:
- 1 000 EUR per year per scholarship holder resident in a Program Country for travel costs.
- 2 000 EUR per year for travel costs + 1.000 EUR for installation costs for a scholarship holder, resident in a Partner Country less than 4000 KM from the University of Lorraine (France).
- 3 000 EUR per year for travel costs + 1.000 EUR for installation costs for a scholarship holder, resident in a Partner Country 4000 KM or more from the University of Lorraine (France).
- Contribution to subsistence costs:
- 1 000 EUR per month for the entire duration of the EMJMD study program (24 months maximum).

Eligibility criteria
You must follow the following criteria:
- The Masters Course is open to European and non European excellent students with a BSc (at least 180 ECTS ) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Automatic/Electrical/Electronics Engineering or Information Technology or cognate area.
- Knowledge of computer networking, programming and operating systems is desirable.
- The grade average of the previous study should prove high qualification, normally be the case for a grade average of ‘B’ or better in terms of the ECTS grading scale.
- Prove that you have sufficient fluency in English.
- Students with a double nationality (of a Partner and of a Programme Country) must specify the nationality under which they submit their scholarship application.
Timeline:
- Oct. to Jan.: Online application.
- Jan. to Feb.: Evaluation, interviews and selection.
- March/May: Information to the students about their admission and funding.
Selection Process:
You will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Academic record (45%).
- English language proficiency (25%).
- Supporting documentation (15%).
- Track record (awards, scholarships, research,…) (15%).
Please note: All Candidates in the pre-selection list are invited to an interview by video conference (10′ for presentation, 10′ for questions).
