Fully Funded PhD Scholarship in Mathematics from Swansea University in the UK

Swansea University offers a fully funded PhD scholarship in the field of Mathematics, which is awarded within a research project entitled; Analysis and Numerics of Stochastic Partial Differential Equations. If you will be the student who will be working on this project would first be trained in techniques spanning a diverse range of disciplines: stochastic processes and random fields, stochastic calculus, computational and statistical methods with simulations, and selected topics on partial differential equations. You would then develop the well-posedness of the concerned stochastic equations and corresponding numerical schemes (if interested). You would also try to develop new equations, linking to advanced modeling in applied subject areas or industrial mathematics. 

If you get this opportunity, you will have a scholarship covering:

• The full cost of UK tuition fees.
• An annual stipend of £17,668.
• Additional research expenses will also be available.

You should follow the following criteria:

• Candidates must normally hold an undergraduate degree at 2.1 level or a master’s degree with a minimum overall grade at ‘Merit’ (or Non-UK equivalent). 
• This project is suitable for a student who has a solid foundation in probability theory, functional analysis, and/or numerical analysis.
• You should have a moderate knowledge of partial differential equations. 
• English Language requirements: IELTS 6.0 Overall (with no individual component below 5.5) or Swansea recognized equivalent. 
• The mode of study is full-time.
• Project start date: 1 July 2023 (Enrollment open from mid-June). 
• Due to funding restrictions, this scholarship is open to applicants eligible to pay tuition fees at the UK rate only.
