Model Young Package for Food Packages and Prize Pool of $7300

The Model Young Package contest 2022 is now accepting entries, and this edition’s theme is food. This is a competition focused on paper products. Prototypes of packaging made of corrugated and solid cardboard and other paper materials are accepted for the competition.

Category Unlimited – Universities & Designers

• 1st place 2500 EUR
• 2nd place 1200 EUR
• 3rd place 1000 EUR

Category High Schools – Secondary schools and tertiary professional schools

• 1st place 1500 EUR
• 2nd place 600 EUR
• 3rd place 500 EUR

In addition, special prizes will be awarded:

• Model Group Innovation Centre Award
• Czechdesign Award
• The Chairman of the Jury‘s Award
• One of the winners will obtain a three-week paid internship at the Model Group Innovation Centre.

• The competition is announced as international, single-phase, open and anonymous. The competition is open to participants from all over the world over 15 years of age, students, and professional designers who meet the competition conditions described in these rules. Competitors can enter the following categories:

1. High school – Students of secondary and tertiary schools from 15 years of age
2. Unlimited – University students and designers without age restrictions

• The contestants are not allowed to submit one design to both categories.
• Only designs from those participants who will get registered via the online registration form will be accepted for the competition. It is mandatory to state the unique registration code generated from the online registration form on the competition submission directly on the competition prototype (in the
• most elegant way) as well as on the envelope or package in which the work will be sent, further it is necessary to send or hand in person the design to the competition organizator.
• The contestant is obliged to submit their competition work in the form of a functional prototype of the packaging on a 1:1 scale, the design must be a functional mock-up. The model must be well built, taking into account possible representative and exhibition purposes.
• The contestant does not submit anything electronically, does not attach any CD or USB drive or portfolio to the work. Only packaging prototypes are included in the evaluation process. Packaging prototypes submitted only electronically or via portfolio will be excluded from evaluation.
• The production costs of the competition work and postal fees are paid by the participant.
• Competition designs are not returned to the participants of the competition and remain in the archive of the competition announcer

Since its foundation in 1996, the Model Young Package competition has achieved an international reputation and a distinctive position among competitions for young designers. Every year, several hundred participants from the whole world send their entries. Model Young Package focuses on packages made of paper.
