Opportunity description
The Ministry of Commerce of People’s Republic of China invites international students from all over the world to the MOFCOM Scholarship China 2022. The scholarship mainly sponsors young and middle-aged talents from recipient countries to pursue their postgraduate degree education in China, as it supports the Master’s program for 2-3 years or Ph.D. program for 3-4 years. This scholarship is set up to further strengthen the communication and cooperation between China and other countries as well as to develop talents for developing countries.

Eligibility criteria
To be eligible, you must be:
- a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China, and be in good health.
- a bachelor’s degree holder when applying for a master’s program.
- a master’s degree holder when applying for the doctoral program.
- under the age of 45 when applying.
- have sufficient English or Chinese proficiency which meets the academic requirements of the program.
- English: IELTS 6.0 or above.
- Chinese: HSK level 4 (score 180) or above, or other evidence which indicates your English or Chinese proficiency is adequate.
- You can choose one same major in three universities out of the 26 designated universities as your desired option.
Please note:
- Scholarship winners will get the admission package from ECCO of the Chinese Embassy by the end of August 2022.
- You must register at the host university before the deadline which is usually September 2022.

The Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China (MOFCOM) is a cabinet-level executive agency of the State Council of China. It is responsible for formulating policy on foreign trade, export and import regulations, foreign direct investments, consumer protection, market competition (competition regulator), and negotiating bilateral and multilateral trade agreements. It is in charge of the administration of foreign trade pursuant to the Foreign Trade Law.
