NEAR MetaBUILD Hackathon for Programmers and Prizes Up to $1 Million from Devpost

Devpost invites programmers and developers all over the world to participate in the NEAR MetaBUILD Hackathon.

Project Requirements:

Entrants must build an app using NEAR in at least one of the below Tracks:

• The Welcome track – for those who have an app and want to integrate blockchain into it, and for the non-blockchain developers who want to get familiar with the technology.
• The Natives track – for the developers who are already familiar with NEAR, Aurora or Octopus blockchain, or build ecosystem and tooling apps (using blockchain data, not the technology).

The hackathon has a total prize pool of $1000000

• First Place: $70,000 USD in NEAR
• Second Place: $50,000 USD in NEAR
• Third Place: $30,000 USD in NEAR
• Welcome Track | Best use of Technology (3): $20,000 USD in NEAR
• Native Track | Best use of Technology (3): $20,000 USD in NEAR
• Welcome Track | Best Design (3): $20,000 USD in NEAR
• Native Track | Best Design (3): $20,000 USD in NEAR
• Welcome Track | Most Potential Impact (3): $20,000 USD in NEAR
• Native Track | Most Potential Impact (3): $20,000 USD in NEAR
• Welcome Track | Biggest Idea (3): $20,000 USD in NEAR
• Native Track | Biggest Idea (3): $20,000 USD in NEAR
• Welcome Track | Most Sustainable Project (3): $20,000 USD in NEAR
• Native Track | Most Sustainable Project (3): $20,000 USD in NEAR
• Bonus Sponsor Prize Pools (4): $10,000 USD in NEAR: This will be divided and awarded to up to 5 projects per pool, which means a winner of a Bonus Sponsor Prize will get a minimum of $2,000 USD in NEAR.
• Sponsor Challenge Prize | First Place (35): $3000 USD in NEAR
• Sponsor Challenge Prize | Second Place (35): $2000 USD in NEAR
• Sponsor Challenge Prize | Third Place (35): $1000 USD in NEAR

• The Hackathon is open to individuals who are at least the age of majority in their place of residence as well as to teams and organizations including corporations, non-profit corporations, other non-profit organizations, LLCs, partnerships and other legal entities.
• An Eligible Individual may join more than one Team or Organization and an Eligible Individual who is part of a Team or Organization may also enter the Hackathon on an individual basis.
• Residents of any country, state, or territory subject to US sanctions are not eligible to participate, such as Cuba, Sudan, Iran, North Korea, and Syria.
• Organizations involved with the design, production, paid promotion, execution, or distribution of the Hackathon, including the Sponsor and Administrator are not eligible.
• Participation is not open to anyone involved in the design, production, promotion, implementation or distribution of the hackathon, and any member of their immediate family.
• Be the original work of the submitter, be solely owned by the submitter, and not violate the IP rights of any other person or entity.
• An Entrant may submit more than one Submission, however, each submission must be unique and substantially different from each of the Entrant’s other Submissions, as determined by the Sponsor and Devpost in their sole discretion.

Judging Criteria:

• Technological Implementation: Does the interaction with NEAR demonstrate quality software development?
• Design: Is the user experience and design of the project well thought out?
• Potential Impact: Is the Project Open Source and how big of an impact could the project have on the NEAR ecosystem?
• Quality of the Idea: How creative and unique is the project?
• Project Sustainability: Is the plan for the Project thought out and realistic?
