Opportunity description
UNV offers an online volunteer opportunity to design materials for legislative reviews for UN Women. UN Women supports UN Member States in setting global standards for gender equality, works with governments and civil society to design the laws, policies, programs and services needed to ensure that standards are effectively implemented and benefits women and girls around the world, and works globally to achieve the vision of the Sustainable Development Goals as well as support women's equal participation in all aspects of life. UN Women in Lebanon advocates and supports social mobilization for legislative reform, and works with partners and the Lebanese government to build gender-responsive institutions that provide basic services to women and girls, in order to create an enabling environment for gender equality and women’s empowerment. The main roles of UN Women revolve around the following points:
- Support intergovernmental bodies, such as the Commission of the Status of Women, in formulating global policies, standards and norms.
- Assist member states in implementing these standards, prepare to provide appropriate technical and financial support to those countries, and establish effective partnerships with civil society.
- Lead and coordinate the work of the United Nations system on gender equality, including regular monitoring of system-wide progress.
Duties & responsibilities
- The Women's Economic Empowerment Section at UN Women Lebanon is looking for an experienced graphic designer who can brand the project for legislative review using UN Women format as well as:
- Designing the legislative study for UN Women using Illustrator and In-design.
- Develop front and back cover pages for legislative review.
- Accept four rounds of review after submitting the first draft to the UN Women.
Eligibility criteria
You must have:
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design and/or any similar field.
- Relevant work experience in designing, writing and editing reports and publications.
- Proven working experience with InDesign and Adobe Illustrator.
- Fluency in Arabic.
- It is preferable to have knowledge of the English language.
- It is preferable to have knowledge of the French language.
