United Nations Volunteers programme is offering an online volunteer opportunity: Social media support for women journalists in Somalia.
Duration:
12 weeks / 16 - 20 hours
Duties & responsibilities
- Review of Bilan’s social media channels and suggest improvements and a plan for producing content and building followers
- Provide weekly training for Bilan journalists in Mogadishu and the FMSes (1 hour once a week for the team in Mogadishu and 1 hour once a week for one group of journalists from the FMSes) on how to use and build followers on X, Facebook, Instagram, Youtube and TikTok, including content production using video, graphics and AI (class groups and scheduling can be adjusted as needed)
- Produce promotional clips, graphics and posts for Bilan’s reports
- Add subtitles (which will be provided) to Bilan media video reports and adjust for various social media formats
Eligibility criteria
Required experience:
Candidates should have professional experience in social media production and promotion.
Languages:
- English, Level: Fluent, Required
- Somali, Level: Fluent, Desirable
