Opportunity description

 Global Universities offers a number of scholarships for master's and PhD programs for international students in various majors and fields. This Russian scholarship project is your chance for early admission to a tuition-free program at one of the leading universities in Russia.

Benefits

If you win and get this scholarship, you will have: 

  • Cover tuition fees.
  • A monthly stipend. 

If you are one of prize-winners, you will get:

  • Tuition discounts and/or other benefits.

Please note: All other expenses (travel, food, accommodation, communication services, medical insurance) are on you.

Eligibility criteria

You should follow the following criteria:

  • The competition is open to foreign citizens, including compatriots living abroad.
  • The winners of the Olympiad, having a Bachelor’s degree or completing their Bachelor degree program in the year of the Olympiad are eligible to be admitted to Master's degree programs. 
  • Winners of the doctoral track, having a Master’s or Specialist’s degree or completing their Master’s or Specialist’s degree programs in the year of the Olympiad are eligible to enroll in one of the doctoral degree programs.
  • You will be enrolled in a specialization indicated in your registration form. Within this specialization you can choose any programme applicable for foreign students.
  • You can participate in all subject areas simultaneously if you want to. But eventually, you’ll still have to choose only a single program in a single university.
  • The level of proficiency in Russian is determined by the chosen university when admitting the winner or a runner-up of the Olympiad.
  • The preparatory program is funded from the federal budget and guarantees enrollment in a degree program taught in Russian provided the level of Russian language proficiency is deemed adequate at the end of the preparatory program.

Timeline:

  • Portfolio filling: September 15th - December 10th, 2022
  • Deadline for portfolio submission: December 10th, 2022
  • The first round. Grading of the portfolios: December 12th - 21th, 2022
  • Announcement of the first-round results: December 23th, 2022
  • The second round: January 10th - 19th, 2023
  • Grading of the second round of the competition: January 11th - February 1th, 2023
  • Announcement of the second-round results: February 2th, 2023
  • Announcement of the Open Doors winners and prize-winners in the Master's track: February 10th, 2023
  • The third round (for participants of the doctoral track: February 11th - March 9th, 2023
  • Announcement of the Open Doors winners and prize-winners in the doctoral track: March 14th, 2023

About Global Universities

These universities in Russia have been numerically ranked based on their positions in the overall Best Global Universities rankings. It organized the Olympiad in collaboration with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudichestvo) to award a number of master's and postgraduate programs in Russia for free.
