Partially-Funded Excellence Fellowships at EPFL in Switzerland

In order to encourage holders of a gymnasium or federal high school diploma, holders of a professional high school diploma registered with the CMS or Swiss and resident persons in their scientific ambitions, EPFL offers excellence scholarships to students registered in first year of Bachelor who have obtained remarkable results during their pre-university course, both academically and extracurricularly.

Benefits The scholarship consists of:

• CHF 10,000.
• Booking a room in an EPFL partner student residence (on request)
• A certificate of excellence (issued at the end of the course)

Anyone who has applied for admission to the Bachelor's course at EPFL can apply for an excellence scholarship if one of these conditions is met:

1. be of Swiss nationality or holder of a C permit;
2. have refugee or stateless person status in Switzerland; vs. hold a certificate within the meaning of art. 1 of the ordinance concerning admission to EPFL;
3. have obtained their secondary level II diploma in Switzerland while residing in Switzerland.

Application:

The application is made by ticking the corresponding box in the Bachelor's registration form. In case of eligibility, an ad hoc form is sent and the following documents are requested:

• Secondary II transcripts
• Summary of the "maturity work" or an equivalent project (1 A4 page max.)
• Motivation letter and curriculum vitae with extracurricular activities
• Two letters of recommendation (one from a teacher + one from an extracurricular activity)
