Opportunity description

University of Twente is now accepting applications for the ITC Excellence Scholarship Programme. The ITC Excellence Scholarship Programme provides a partial scholarship which is available to students with a very good academic track record, and who are applying for ITC's Master's degree programme Geo-information Science and Earth Observation with specializations in various domains.

Available Specializations:-

  • Applied Remote Sensing for Earth Sciences.
  • Geoinformatics.
  • Geo-information Management for Land Administration.
  • Natural Hazards and Disaster Risk Reduction.
  • Natural Resources Management.
  • Urban Planning and Management.
  • Water Resources and Environmental Management.
  • Free specialization.

Benefits

  • The scholarship covers part of the tuition fee and Allowance.
  • As this is a partial scholarship, admitted applicants must be able to show that additional funding is available to complement the funding through this scholarship (i.e. covering all remaining fees and costs before the payment deadline).

Eligibility criteria

  • The ITC Excellence Scholarship Programme is available for excellent students applying for the ITC  Master’s degree programme Geo-information Science and Earth Observation.
  • To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:
  • Be residing in and being a national of a country listed on the OECD approved List of Recipients of Official Development Assistance.
  • Have completed the Bachelor’s degree from a well-acknowledged university outside the Netherlands.
  • Have academic performance among the top 10%.
  • Have an IELTS certificate with at least 6.5.
  • Have relevant background for the intended field of study.
  • Be not eligible for support under the Dutch system of study grants and loans.
  • Applicants are expected to score an average mark for the ITC study programme that falls in the 10% highest mark range obtained by the regular students. As such only academically excellent applicants will be selected for the award of these scholarships.
  • Before the end of the first academic year, a progress appraisal will be made to determine if the candidate is making satisfactory progress and if the ITC Excellence Scholarship funding may be continued to the second year. For the continuation of the scholarship into the second academic year of the programme, the student should have obtained at least all but 7EC (study points) ie. 53 out of the available 60 EC, before the start of the second academic year.
