Opportunity description

The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) is seeking an International UN Volunteer to serve as a Strategic Partnerships Analyst for a 6-month onsite assignment in Panama City, Panama (with the possibility of extension). Located in the Latin America and the Caribbean regional office, the volunteer will support the implementation of the Regional Resource Mobilization and Partnerships Strategy and contribute to partnership opportunities across the region.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Conduct donor research and market analysis to support resource mobilization strategies at Regional, Subregional, and Country Office levels.

  • Map and analyze current and potential partners in Latin America and the Caribbean, including the private sector and multilateral banks.

  • Produce competitive landscape analyses and generate donor intelligence to build strategic partnerships.

  • Analyze internal resource mobilization data and external market trends to produce insightful reports for decision-making.

  • Track funding and financing trends in the LAC region to identify new opportunities.

  • Support Regional and Country Offices in developing donor pipelines and preparing funding proposals.

  • Establish and support a Community of Practice to strengthen skills in donor intelligence and negotiation.

Eligibility criteria

  • Candidate must be a national of a country other than the country of assignment (Panama).

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Management, Development, International Affairs, Communication, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Possess at least 2 years of professional work experience in resource mobilization, communication, advocacy, and/or marketing.

  • Fluent in Spanish (Required) and possess a working knowledge of English (Required).

  • Experience working in the UN or other international development organizations is highly desirable.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural team.

  • Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
