The Partnership for Economic Policy (PEP) announces a research fellowship for researchers in low- and middle-income countries to join the organization as Research Fellows (RF). Those accepted to this opportunity will be selected through a competitive process to participate in important research, training and policy activities of PEP, as the program aims to strengthen links between scholars based in the South so that they can contribute effectively to the global development research agenda.
Benefits
Fellows accepted into this opportunity will be able to participate in various PEP activities, which include:
- Contribute to research programs at PEP.
- Serve as a scientific or policy guide/reviewer for a PEP-funded project, or generally contribute to the design and implementation of PEP programs.
- Contribute to online or offline PEP training activities.
- Contribute to various PEP activities, which include for example: national and international conferences, blogs, newsletters, policy summaries/activities, X topics (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn/Facebook posts, etc.
- Representing PEP at international conferences.
- Proposing new initiatives that align with PEP's strategic priorities.
- Submit your research papers for publication in the PEP Working Paper Series.
- Participate in the institution's professional network to exchange experiences, collaborate on research initiatives, discuss ideas, etc.
Eligibility criteria
- This opportunity is aimed at all researchers living and working in low- or middle-income countries.
- Priority areas this year include:
- Applicants from Asia and the Middle East/North Africa.
- Those with expertise in gender, health, entrepreneurship or an interdisciplinary approach.
- Women are strongly encouraged to apply for this opportunity as PEP strives to maintain gender balance in the program.
- Researchers residing in a developed country and/or members of PEP staff (excluding consultants) can't apply for this opportunity.
- The institution's decision to select candidates will depend on the following factors:
- Quality and quantity of research activities (journals and awards) and their relevance to PEP topics and analysis methods.
- Quality and quantity of participation/advisory activities in the field of national, regional and global policies.
- Quality and type of other activities relevant to the PEP Research Fellowship (e.g. trainings, teaching, conference participation, fundraising/grants received, etc.).
- The quality of the letter of motivation and potential contribution to the PEP Research Fellow Program and PEP as a whole.
