Swansea University offers a full-time PhD scholarship for a researcher in Sports Science. You will participate in evaluating the impact of the Ospreys in the Community (OitC) "Sporting Memories" program on older adults living with dementia. This project requires a practitioner-researcher to support, evaluate, and develop Sporting Memories, to ensure it maximizes its health, social, and economic impact. You will be responsible more specifically for:
- Support the delivery of Sporting Memories.
- Complete an evaluation of the initiative, noting its impact on attendees.
- Utilize the findings and literature to develop/refine the initiative, to maximize its reach/impact.
- Engage with partners to ensure Sporting Memories is sustainable.
- Evaluate/disseminate the health, social, and economic benefits of Sporting Memories.

- Coverage for the full cost of UK tuition fees.
- An annual stipend of £16,062.
- Additional research expenses will also be available.

Eligibility criteria
You should follow the following criteria:
- You must normally hold an undergraduate degree at 2.1 level (or Non-UK equivalent) in Sports Science or similar relevant science discipline.
- English Language Requirements: IELTS 6.5 overall (with at least 5.5 in each individual component) or Swansea recognized equivalent.
- This scholarship is open to applicants eligible to pay tuition fees at the UK rate only.
- Project start date: 1 October 2022 (Enrolment open from mid-September).
- Mode of study: Full-time.
