United Nations Volunteers programme is offering a volunteer opportunity in Libya: Monitoring Officer.
Duration:
12 months
Duties & responsibilities
- Provide support as necessary in organizing and managing annual and mid-year programmes.
- Provide technical and organizational support to the monitoring function, including activity monitoring, and tracking of programmatic visits conducted by UNICEF staff.
- Developing and designing data collection process.
- Reviewing the Monitoring Visit Reports for quality and completeness.
- Provide support to the production of quality evidence generation as in the CO IMEP, EISI
- Follow up/quality control to the on-going and planned research, evaluations and studies.
- Contribute to the design of training materials, communication materials related to the research, evaluations and studies.
- Any other relevant tasks requested by supervisor.
Eligibility criteria
- Age: 18 - 26
- Nationality: Candidate must be a national or legal resident of the country of assignment.
- Required experience:
- 2 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation;
- Experience with UN agencies, or other international development organization is an asset
- Excellent oral and written skills
- Excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills;
- Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing;
- Proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.) and email/internet
- Area(s) of expertise: Social work, Development programmes
- Languages:
- English, Level: Fluent, Required
- Arabic, Level: Working knowledge, Desirable
- Required education level: Bachelor degree or equivalent in social science, statistics, international studies, development studies, or other related field;
- Skills:
- Diplomacy and tact to deal with clients
- High degree of autonomy, personal initiative
- Willingness to accept wide responsibilities and ability to work independently
- Teamwork and respect for diversity
- Ability to establish and maintain effective partnerships and harmonious working relations in a multi-cultural
- Ability to achieve common goals and provide guidance or training to colleagues.
- Good spoken and written communication skills
- Ability to prepare clear and concise reports
- Ability to conduct presentations
