Volunteer in Yemen with UN Volunteers: Reporting and Communication Specialist

United Nations Volunteers programme is offering a volunteer opportunity in Yemen: Reporting and Communication Specialist.

Duration:

12 months (with possibility of extension)

• Support monitoring data quality tracking the progress of activities and identifying opportunities for staff.
• Perform field visits as per need to ensure the quality of the data gathered by the project.
• Draft reports and analyse data as to indicators and AWP
• Draft quarterly and annual reports.
• Assist in the monitoring of key accomplishments of the program.
• Draft a communication work plan for the project.
• Organize public awareness-raising activities, consistent with the communication strategy
• Work closely with UNDP’s other units and government sector offices.
• Plan and implement a communications strategy.
• Make sure that all Visibilities meet the UNDP and donor Principles and strategy.
• Serve as point of contact for project media and communication.
• Assess and report on the effectiveness of communication strategies.
• Constant communication with the Project Manager, Project Management team.

Age: 27 - 80

Nationality: Candidate must be a national of a country other than the country of assignment.

Required experience:

1. 5 years of experience in management and communication.
2. Excellent writing and analytical skills 
3. Knowledge and experience of M&E systems
4. Experience working within Development agencies preferably in the government system.
5. Proficient in photo editing and video editing software/platform.
6. Proven experience in handling and developing content across different communication channels.
7. Excellent interpersonal and networking skills.
8. Ability to communicate and function effectively in an international, multicultural environment.
9. Ability to work effectively in a team.
10. Excellent oral and written skills
11. Excellent drafting, formulation, and reporting skills.

Languages:

1. English, Level: Fluent, Required
2. Arabic, Level: Working knowledge, Desirable

Required education level:

Bachelor degree or equivalent in in social science or economy, preferably in communication, economics, international relations, development studies, statistics, management, or related disciplines.
