UN Volunteers platform is offering an online volunteer opportunity, as YELD Kenya is looking for We are looking for 15 online volunteers who are highly experienced grant writers with at least 5 years of hands-on grant writing experience with international nonprofits or social enterprises to help us with writing project proposals for our flagship program dubbed "YELD Mentorship Program" and Juakali Digitization project which is currently at the idea stage.
Volunteer duration and working hours:
11-20 hours per week for 24 weeks.
Duties & responsibilities
- Since grant writing is a highly specialized undertaking, undergraduate students will not be considered for this position. The goal is to raise funds for our activities and various flagship programs.
- YELD Kenya will provide all necessary assistance and documents/ information to the volunteer in advance and during the proposal writing period. The volunteers will not be requested to solicit any donations on behalf of our organization but will submit the completed proposal to us for onward submission to the donors.
Eligibility criteria
- Fundraising experts, native English writers, and grant proposal writing experts, with a strong civil society and business background especially in sustainable economic development and youth advocacy are eligible.
- The volunteers need to have access to the internet, e-mail, and social media to facilitate exchanges and communication.
- Detailed CV/resume in PDF format must be submitted - The CV/resume should highlight grant writing expertise and be willing to provide a sample portfolio as proof.
