UN Volunteers platform is offering an online volunteer opportunity, to join UNDP Global Centre for Technology, Innovation and Sustainable Development that is looking for one creative and motivated online volunteer to support our team with creating designs and artwork used for our new publication “Precision Agriculture for Smallholder Farmers”, which consists of approximately 50 pages of text, including tables, graphs, and images.
Precision agriculture is a data-driven farm management approach that caters to the needs of individual farms. It can reduce the need for agricultural inputs like water, fertilisers, and pesticides, improve productivity and yields, and reduce the environmental footprint of farming.
Volunteer duration and working hours:
11-20 hours per week for 2 weeks.
Duties & responsibilities
The online volunteer will be asked to:
- Design the document following our corporate design guidelines which will be shared with the online volunteer in advance.
- Produce 4-5 infographics using the content in the publication.
- Design a 3-5-page policy brief derived from the publication.
Eligibility criteria
- Candidates should be professional graphic designers with previous experience in designing document layouts,
- have in-depth knowledge of graphic design applications,
- good verbal, and written communication skills.
- Experience with Adobe InDesign and Illustrator is a must.
- Attention to detail is required.
- A degree in graphic design or related field is considered an asset.
- Required languages: English.
