UN Volunteers platform is offering an online volunteer opportunity, as Universal Versatile Society is looking for 15 volunteers to help in Writing and Editing Climate Change News Stories. Today's world pressing issue is Climate Change, it's consequences are need to be addressed regularly. To facilitate this, we are publishing the 'Weekly World Climate Change News' on our YouTube Channel. We monitor environment related worldwide updates from sources such as United Nations Environment News, UNFCCC Newsroom, UNDP News Center, etc. The Online Volunteers are supposed to extract, edit and compose weekly news from the given raw stories by duly crediting the sources used. Online Volunteers are expected to collect or edit minimum 5 news weekly.
Volunteer duration and working hours:
1-5 hours per week / 20 weeks.
Duties & responsibilities
Our objective of this project is in line with SDG 13. We are United Nations Environment Program accredited organization with prime focus on Climate Change awareness and education. Thus, as per our objectives we are dedicated to make the public aware about this emerging issue. We want to utilize the available tremendous potential of young Online Volunteers with a background in journalism to address environmental issues and committed to provide them the international platform to demonstrate their skill. To accomplish this task, Online Volunteers are expected to have basic understanding of climate change and its effects with background education in journalism.
Eligibility criteria
- Candidates are expected to be well-skilled in writing and editing with great command over English.
- Basic understanding of Climate Change and environmental issues is needed.
- Applicants from journalism background is added advantage.
