Opportunity description
The United Nations Volunteers Program offers a volunteer opportunity in Yemen as a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer. You will be responsible for following up on the day-to-day operations of the NGO and following up on their implementation of agreed activities; making recommendations on future program activities; Defining scale metrics and impactful stories to disseminate.
Duties & responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Enhance your knowledge and understanding of volunteering by reading relevant UNV and external publications and actively participating in UNV activities (eg in events celebrating International Volunteer Day).
- Learn about and build on traditional and local forms of volunteering in the host country.
- Provide strong, efficient, and responsive customer support.
- Monitor and follow up on project activities and prepare required reports.
- Provide insight to the project team on the quality of implementation.
- Enhance your relationships with your colleagues and various stakeholders.
Eligibility criteria
You must have:
- You must be between 27 and 80 years old.
- You must be a citizen or legal resident of the country of opportunity.
- 3 years of experience in development projects management, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Excellent writing and speaking skills.
- Ability to prepare reports.
- Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing.
- The ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with various stakeholders, including community members, religious and youth organizations, and authorities at various levels.
- Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national staff.
- Proficiency in the Arabic language.
- It is preferred that you are fluent in English.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in political science, monitoring, and evaluation, or any related field.
- Adaptability and flexibility in work.
- Creativity skills.
- The ability to make a decision.
- Planning and organizing skills.
- Professionalism at work.
