Opportunity description
The United Nations Volunteers Program is offering a volunteer opportunity as a demand/Finance/Supply Management Officer in Afghanistan.
Duties & responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Head of the Logistics and Fuel Unit, you will be responsible for each of the following:
- Manage the demand plan for the general supply unit.
- Assist in implementing appropriate procedures to ensure efficient and effective supply operations.
- Assist in ensuring proper planning, implementation, follow-up, and evaluation of various supplies.
- Assist in the management of the comprehensive and accurate online database of UNAMA inventory related to the supply section of the organization's ERP system.
- Assistance with financial matters and various expectations regarding the demand plan.
- Follow up on the physical stock counting process on a regular basis to ensure that stock is always accurate.
- Submitting periodic reports on the stock status to facilitate the process of replenishing it.
- Analyze data and provide information related to inventory including life expectancy, surplus inventory, and any related issues, and promptly inform the head of supply of appropriate remedial actions.
- Provide reports on equipment/stock status on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Building staff capabilities and enhancing teamwork.
- Provide necessary advice on all matters related to supply and logistics to the Head of the Supply Section.
- Continuous monitoring and evaluation of work in order to improve operations and future supplies.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining various operational capabilities to handle supply logistical arrangements if required to ensure timely availability of supplies.
- Contribute to building a positive team climate and transfer your knowledge to your colleagues.
- Identify and focus on value-added services that the Supply Section can provide to UNAMA sections.
Eligibility criteria
You must have:
- Be between 27 and 80 years old.
- Be a national of any country other than the country of appointment.
- 3 years of experience both nationally and internationally in Demand Plans/Finance/Supply Management.
- Experience in management, and business administration.
- Proficiency in English.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Demand Planning/Finance/Supply Management.
- Planning and organizing skills.
