Opportunity description
The United Nations Volunteers Program announces a volunteer opportunity to translate manuscripts from English into Spanish. Manuscripts will be submitted in English and will be translated into Spanish at a later date. This will be a short-term opportunity to translate manuscripts selected for publication, where you will collaborate with other volunteers to translate various manuscripts into the desired language. You are expected to complete your assignment within two weeks, but your final document must follow IOM's editorial practices.
Duties & responsibilities
- You will translate 3 to 4 manuscripts of 10 to 12 pages each.
- Your translation must follow the standards of IOM Styling and British Spelling.
Eligibility criteria
You must have:
- Experience translating texts from English into Spanish following IOM or UN guidelines.
- Some understanding of diaspora participation and their role in sustainable development and migration issues.
- Proficiency in English.
- Fluency in the Spanish language.
