United Nations Volunteers programme is offering a volunteer opportunity: Reporting Officer in Corrections and Penitentiary.
Duration:
14 months (with possibility of extension)
Duties & responsibilities
- Advise the National penitentiary administration on prison reform with particular regard to professional development of prison staff
- Make needs assessment in collaboration with the UN in the development of programs within the framework of a global prison reform strategy
- Contribute in the elaboration of project requests in view of the professionalization of the penitentiary service and in the search for potential donors
- Assist in the strategic planning, budgeting, reporting, and analyzing of long and short term support;
- Draft policy and program documents
- Assume all other related duties as requested by the head of the penitentiary unit.
Eligibility criteria
Age: 27 - 80
Nationality: Candidate must be a national of a country other than the country of assignment.
Required experience:
- 5 years of experience in the conceptualization of programmes, strategic planning and reporting is required.
- Experience in prison system or penitentiary administration would be highly desirable.
- Experience in policy development is an advantage.
Languages:
- French, Level: Fluent, Required
- English, Level: Working knowledge, Required
Required education level:
- Bachelor degree or equivalent in law, education/training, social sciences, criminal justice, development, management or a related field is preferable
- An advanced degree (Master's degree or equivalent) is desirable.
