United Nations Volunteers programme is offering a volunteer opportunity in Egypt: Procurement Assistant.
Duration:
12 months
Duties & responsibilities
- Full compliance of procurement activities with UN/UNDP rules, regulations, policies and strategies.
Provision of inputs to preparation of procurement plans for the project. - Support to organization of procurement processes including preparation of RFQs, receipt of quotations, bids or proposals, and their preliminary evaluation.
- Preparation of Purchase orders and contracts in and outside Quantum system and maintenance of the filing system in the procurement Unit.
- Timely corrective actions on POs with budget check errors and other problems.
- Update of the rosters of suppliers.
- Purchase of tickets and PO preparation; arrangement of shipments; vehicle maintenance organization.
- Participation in the training for the project staff on Procurement.
Eligibility criteria
Age: 27 - 80
Nationality:
Candidate must be a national or legal resident of the country of assignment.
Required experience:
- 4 years of experience in in the national and international level.
- At least two years of experience in procurement, administrative or programme experience at the national or international level.
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc) Knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling of web-based management systems.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills combined with ability to multi-task and produce accurate results under pressure.
- High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Required education level:
Bachelor degree or equivalent in Business or Public Administration, Economics, Political Sciences and Social Sciences or any related field.
