United Nations Volunteers programme is offering a volunteer opportunity in Palestine: Community Engagement Specialist.
Duration:
12 months (with possibility of extension)
Duties & responsibilities
- Provide oversight, guidance, and support to the UN Community Volunteers
- Advance the gender equality agenda with local partners and the community
- Support data collection, monitoring and reporting efforts
- Contribute to the roll out of the project’s communication and visibility plan
- Any other related tasks, as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.
Eligibility criteria
Age: 27 - 80
Nationality: Candidate must be a national or legal resident of the country of assignment.
Required experience:
- 3 years of experience in working in an international setting or developing countries an asset;
- Complementary qualifications in statistics/data analysis, project management/coordination or any development-related field of study an asset;
- Proficiency in MS Office suite and advanced knowledge of web-based management systems;
- Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision
- Ability to work with tight deadlines; Sound security awareness;
- Excellent oral and written skills
- Excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel;
Languages:
- English, Level: Fluent, Required
- Arabic, Level: Mother tongue, Required
Required education level:
Bachelor degree or equivalent in Statistics/ Data Collection/ Data analysis, Gender equality or Community engagement
