Opportunity description
The Maria Luisa Memorial invites photographers and filmmakers, both amateurs and professionals, to participate in the 35th edition of its competition. The aim of this competition is to discover new and innovative images that enhance the participants' artistic work and promote the importance of protecting the natural environment.
The competition includes various categories related to mountains, nature, wildlife, mountaineering, landscapes, the underwater world, biodiversity, plants, extreme sports, and adventures. This year, a new category dedicated to portrait photography has been added.
This event attracts photographers from more than 100 countries around the world, bringing together well-known international photographers and emerging talents. Guidelines and tips are provided for participation, and the competition confirms that it has no commercial objectives, but rather focuses solely on highlighting the creativity of the participants.
Benefits
The overall winner of the “XXXV Memorial Maria Luisa” competition will receive a cash prize of €4,000, a trophy, a certificate of appreciation, a photo book, and two invitations to the awards ceremony. The overall winner will be chosen from among the winners of the fourteen categories, where the judges will select the most outstanding and influential photo.
Prize for the winner in each category: €300, a trophy, a certificate, a photo book, and two invitations to the awards ceremony.
Young photographers award (under 19): Samsung 4G tablet, trophy, certificate, photo book, and two invitations to the awards ceremony.
Special award for the theme of the year: Citizen BN0151 watch, trophy, certificate, photo book, and two invitations to the awards ceremony.
Best video, film, or documentary award: €3,000 voucher redeemable for Foto Ruano products, along with a trophy, a certificate, a photo book, and two invitations to the awards ceremony.
These amounts are subject to tax deductions.
Eligibility criteria
All photographers and filmmakers, whether amateur or professional, are welcome to participate. Contestants can submit a first image for free, while all other images and videos require an entry fee of 22 euros (tax included) for adults, which allows competition in all categories. Participation is free for photographers under 19 years of age.
